The New England Patriots quarterback held a press conference ahead of Super Bowl XLIX on February 1; not to answer questions about the Seattle Seahawks' defense, but to defend himself against charges of football deflation.
"I didn't alter the ball in any way,” Brady said in response to questions about why 11 of the 12 football used by New England in its week last week over the Colts were under league inflation regulations.
In a Q&A session with reports that lasted a little more than 30 minutes, Brady detailed how he selected 24 footballs for referees to inspect prior to Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Colts.
And he said "balls" a lot in the process, causing Internet users to giggle like first graders as they debated whether Brady and Coach Bill Belichick are cheats.
The quarterback also repeatedly professed his innocence in regard to DeflateGate ("I feel like I have always played within the rules," he said. "I would never break the rules."), but whatever...
