When Derick Dillard quit his job at Wal-Mart earlier this month, there was much speculation regarding why a newlywed first-time father would leave a comfortable position in the career field of his choice.

Some guessed that Derick was preparing for a role on the long-rumored Jill and Jessa Duggar spinoff series.

Others assumed his departure was part of the family's effort to keep a low profile in the wake of the Josh sexual abuse scandal.

Now, the reason for Derick's career change has become clear, and many are taking it as a sign that 19 Kids and Counting will never return to the airwaves.

"God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip, but we didn’t know yet how God would fulfill that desire in us," Derick and wife Jill Dillard wrote on their personal blog.

"Earlier this year God brought about an opportunity much earlier than either of us was expecting. Several months ago a new opportunity arose for us to serve God on the mission field.

"After much prayer and seeking Godly counsel, we realized that taking this opportunity and moving overseas in order to serve is the best option for our family...We are currently preparing to leave the US and begin our new endeavor in July."

Derick and Jill did not disclose the location or duration of their missionary work, but it sounds as though they intend to be out of the country for at least several months.

Some fans are speculating that the couple reached its decision in response to news that TLC plans to cancel 19 Kids and Counting

As you've probably heard, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of nationwide gay marriage yesterday in a landmark decision that's being celebrated in all 50 states.

Countless celebrities have spoken out in favor of the SCOTUS decision, and president Obama hailed the ruling as a "victory for America."

But not all public figures are pleased with yesterday's developments.

Just moments after the decision was announced, members of the famously conservative Duggar family made their feelings known with a Bible quote posted on their official Facebook page:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways," the message reads. "Then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

While the family has not addressed the court's ruling directly, the timing and content of the above message leaves little doubt that this is the Duggars' way of admonishing the justices who voted in favor of gay marriage and chastising the nation for its "wicked" ways.

Many of the commenters on the Duggars' post expressed support for the family and its views, while others accused the 19 Kids and Counting clan of hypocrisy for commenting on the sexual preferences so soon after news of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal went public.

Proving she really is a viral force to be reckoned with, Kendall Jenner has set a new Instagram record for the most-Liked picture of all-time on that social media service.

And the person she knocked from the top spot? None other than half-sister Kim Kardashian!

A photo snapped this spring of Kendall lying on her back, eyes closed, decked out in a lacey white dress (above) has now been Liked over 2.4 million times.

The previous mark had been held by Kim after she posted a photo of her kissing Kanye West at their Florence wedding in May of 2014.

Jenner celebrated the news by retweeting the announcement and jokingly adding, “take that KimYe!”

Although we wonder how much she was joking.

A Kendall Jenner-Kim Kardashian feud has allegedly been simmering for months.

Some say the former sex tape star is jealous that Jenner has already accomplished more in the modeling world than Kim ever dreamed.

Earlier this year, on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim screamed that she bought Kendall's career.

Moreover, one report claims Kendall has banned Kim from attending her runway shows because she thinks Kardashian hurts her "brand."

It's juicy celebrity gossip fodder, that's for sure, and this new Instagram rivalry only adds to it.

Excuse him, Kanye West. This dude is gonna let you finish, but first he has something to say...

West was given a taste of his own rude medicine while headlining the Glastonbury Festival in England on Saturday night, as some idiot in a white T-shirt ran out on stage during a rendition of “Black Skinhead.”

Security quickly nabbed the concert crasher and Kanye proceeded to start the track all over again.

"Some people were saying Kanye shouldn’t headline Glastonbury so I thought I’d give him a hand," Tweeted the self-identified crasher, Lee Nelson, soon after his act.

It is true that over 135,000 people signed a Change.org petition, protesting Mr. Kim Kardashian serving as the festival's main act.

Still... this is not cool. Check out the footage above.

Look, we've all sort of wished Paris Hilton would die at some point over the last decade or so.

But this is taking things way too far.

The above footage features Hilton on board a small plane when she smell something unpleasant.

There is then A LOT of turbulence before alarms go off and the plane starts to nosedive.

"Is this normal? What is happening?!?" Paris screams.

From there, a man actually lifts up a side of the plane and drags a passenger off, the two jumping to the ground before things get worse.

Eventually, the plane lands and the man who had been sitting next to the former BFF of Kim Kardashian apologizes, saying it was all a prank.

"Scariest moment of my life," Hilton later Tweeted. "I really believed the plane was going to crash & we were all going to die."

Did she? Are we really to believe Paris was not in on this? Watch and decide for yourself.

Escaped prisoner David Sweat has reportedly been shot and captured by authorities while attempting to flee to Canada.

Sweat was on the run for more than three weeks after breaking out of Clinton Correctional Facility in Upstate New York. 

Fellow escapee Richard Matt was shot and killed two days ago. Police say they've been closing in on Sweat ever since.

The 35-year-old convicted murderer was apprehended near the town of Malone, NY, less than two miles from the Canadian border. 

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time.

“It’s been a long haul for everyone, for the community, for law enforcement,” Sheriff David Favro told the New York Times. “I’ll be curious now if he survives to see what he’s going to say, if anything.”

Sweat's arrest concludes a nearly month-long manhunt that began when he and Matt were allegedly aided by two prison employees in their escape from Clinton Correctional on June 6.

Bristol Palin is suddenly singing a very different tune about her second pregnancy.

A couple days after sounding rather depressed over the fact that she's expecting again, Bristol first posted the following photo online and wrote that's how much she cares about what haters have to say.

She then took to her Patheos blog on Sunday and addressed those who continue to "mock" and "judge" her.

"None of us are perfect," Palin wrote. "I made a mistake, but it's not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned."

Wait... what? Please explain, Bristol.

"Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself,” she says.

So, in other words, Bristol was planning to grow her family with Dakota Meyer.

Except then she called off her wedding to Dakota Meyer.

And now she's pregnant with what may be Dakota Meyer's baby.

We wouldn't exactly refer to that a plan, per se, which Bristol then admits:

“Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on. But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two.

"Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!"

Meyer is yet to comment on the pregnancy news, though he did post a lengthy message on Facebook Friday that referenced three recent terrorist attacks.

He then blamed the media for focusing on a "dog and pony show" at home instead of violence abroad.

On her blog, meanwhile, Bristol concluded that she "never even thought of aborting" her new child, defending her role as a "teen pregnancy prevention" spokesperson for The Candies Foundation and adding:

"Life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance.

"This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now. Deal with it.”

Donald Trump is out of NBC, on this point both the Presidential hopeful and the network agree.

But while the network claims it fired Trump (and will not air Miss USA or have Trump host Celebrity Apprentice again), the real estate mogul has a different take on the situation.

Actually at a press conference when NBC made its announcement, Trump told reporters on the scene:

"As far as ending the relationship, I have to do that because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC.

Ah, yes, Trump's views on immigration.

Upon announcing his plans to run for President of the United States in 2016, Trump denounced our nation's immigration policy and said Mexico is sending over people who bring "drugs" and crime."

He also said quite simply of Mexican immigrants: "They're rapists."

Since making those comments, Univision has pulled out of airing Miss USA, while Cristián de la Fuente and Roselyn Sanchez have pulled out of hosting the ceremony.

Over 200,000 people then signed a petition that called for NBC to sever all ties with Trump, a request the network abided by this morning.

In response to his alleged ousting from the network, Trump's campaign says in a formal statement:

If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court.

Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.

Meanwhile, in even more shocking news, Trump says he will ditch his comb over if elected President.

In August of 2014, Celine Dion announced she was cancelling her tour to help care for her husband, René Angélil, who was diagnosed with throat cancer.

Sadly, René Angélil is on his deathbed.  He is no longer able to speak, and he has lost his hearing from radiation treatments.  The acclaimed singer's husband is even being tube fed.

With the news of his fragile state, some were surprised that Celine showed up to perform at the 19th annual “Power of Love” gala at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas.

Celine attended the aforementioned event to perform a duet with opera singer Andrea Bocelli.

Some were quick to criticize Celine for leaving her ailing husband’s side.  However, she silenced the criticism by confirming that René encouraged her to perform.

René pleaded with Celine, asking her to focus on her career. Dion said, “Rene wanted me to be here. He is fighting and working really hard. He wants me to be strong.”

She added, “But, he also wants me to hurry back, he wants to see me again – before he goes.”

Celine abided his wishes.  She performed at the show and was back at his bedside in less than 12 hours.

We wish Celine the best as she works through this difficult time.

It's been two months since we first learned that Avril Lavigne has been diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The 30-year-old singer has mostly kept quiet about the challenges of fighting the crippling illness, but she sat down with Good Morning America today for an emotional interview in which she discussed the details of her condition for the first time.

In the clip above, Lavigne tearfully opens up about the frustrations of being misdiagnosed with depression and chronic fatigue syndrome.

“This is what they do to a lot of people who have Lyme disease," Lavigne says. "They don't have an answer for them, so they tell them, like, 'You're crazy.'"

Lavigne says she's slowly improving, and has sought emotional support from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster who is also a Lyme disease patient. 

Is makeup really all bad? This video seeks to dispel some of the recent "makeup shaming" that's been going on lately, extolling its positive virtues instead.

While it's cool to see all the celebrities without makeup, and the celebrities with and without makeup comparisons, does that mean makeup is evil?

According to the Internet ... pretty close.

Sometimes you could be forgiven if you assumed that, given the backlash against overuse of makeup and photoshop that has become a pastime.

The pendulum has swung back so far in the opposite direction that we now have videos like this describing all the reasons it's not really that terrible.

Former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman is on a quest to stay relevant while Kaitlyn Bristowe steals the hearts of this season's Bachelorette contestants.

Andi extended a friendly hand to Kaitlyn, inviting her for a night out, and the two joined up with Bachelor contestant Sharleen Joynt for dinner.

But can this friendship be for real? The Bachelorette spoilers haven't given away the answer to that, so we'll have to rely on our own guesswork.

Andi and Josh Murray split in January and she has been trying to stay in the spotlight since.  Is her new friendship with Kaitlyn just another way to stay relevant???

In the picture, the ladies seem to be enjoying themselves.  And apparently, they actually have things to talk about.

Dorfman captured the picture, “My two hot dinner dates last night ... And yes we talk about more than #TheBachelorette.”

They must have a lot to say, especially since Kaitlyn hooked up with Nick Viall.  Yes, the same Nick Viall that dated Andi on her season of The Bachelorette.

Clearly, it isn’t chicks before d!cks with these ladies.

Kaitlyn is down for some dirty though.  She said, "I don't feel ashamed about the act of sex in the relationship.”

She continued, ”It's just such a confusing world to live in where it's this gray area of what's right and what's wrong, and when do you sleep with somebody and talk about it?"

"Or do you just wait 10 more days and not talk about it after the Fantasy Suite?" 

But Dorfman isn’t feeling it.  She said of Nick kissing and telling, "I think that's kind of below the belt and something that should be kept private.”

It’s hard to believe that Dorfman could go to dinner with Kaitlyn and have a good time knowing that Kaitlyn banged her ex.

But that presupposes that these ladies actually fall in love with the contestants.  And that is about as debatable as Andi and Kaitlyn’s friendship.

A lot of sh*tty people do sh*tty things.  But some are worse than others.

Lying about having terminal brain cancer to launch a blog and food company is right up there with the worst of them.

Belle Gibson, social media celeb and wellness expert, admitted in an April interview that she lied about her cancer diagnosis.

Now that the world hates her, she is backtracking saying that she did believe she had cancer.

She said, “I lived for years with the fear that I was dying. I wasn't living in a space where I didn't know that this was my reality." 

Belle claims that an immunologist and neurologist ran a series of tests during a home visit.  At the time, according to Gibson, the doctor diagnosed her with brain cancer.

Of course, no record of this doctor or visit can be found. Still, Belle said she “believed he was a real doctor.” 

So what’s a girl who lies about cancer to do???  Bank on her musings on her site about wellness and natural remedies to help beat the disease.

Oh yeah, and take money from them on her site Whole Pantry.

A**hole.

Before she started making money off of her brand, brain scans from 2011 show that she was cancer-free.

Over the weekend, Khloe Kardashian celebrated her 31st birthday and most of her family turned out to mark the occasion.

Kim Kardashian was in England for the Glastonbury music fest (where she had the unique pleasure of seeing a flag with a photo of her giving oral sex) and Rob Kardashian is still doing his Boo Radley thing, but the rest of her siblings showed up:

In fact, sources say just one family member didn't take time out to celebrate Khloe's big day - momager-turned-serial-snubber Kris Jenner.

Yes, according to Radar Online, Kris skipped Khloe's birthday party and figured an Instagram shout-out would be sufficient:

"Just like Kris did with Rob, instead of actually being there she thought that it was enough to post a birthday message on her social media for Khloe’s birthday," says one insider.

This is allegedly the second time she's ducked out on one of her kid's B-days in four months, as sources say Kris skipped Rob's party back in March.

To make matters worse, Kris was sure to make time for Kanye West's birthday celebration earlier month.

“It says a lot that Kris stopped everything that she was doing to be at Kanye’s birthday when Kanye isn’t even one of her actual children,” says the source.

It certainly does.

For many, the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage has been a time for celebration.

And with 26 million people using the Facebook app to add a rainbow filter over their profile picture, it is easy to assume that all celebrations are in support of the Supreme Court’s decision.

However, Lady Gaga discovered that not every party was a pride celebration.

Showing off her support for marriage equality, Lady Gaga shared an Instagram photo of a huge crowd of people below her Chicago apartment balcony.

"Watching over Chicago Pride from my apartment and smiling so big," Gaga wrote. "So many happy people. Happy pride!" 

In the picture, she poses shirtless with “Gay Pride” written across her chest and stomach.

But the problem is it wasn’t a pride celebration.  It was the Chicago Mariachi and Folklórico Festival.

Oooops.

The Mariachi Festival held at Jay Pritzker Pavillion at Millennium Park.  It was organized to honor Mexican folk music.

Lady Gaga’s mistake was first noticed by The Mariachi Heritage Foundation.  They shared it on their Facebook page, writing “‘So many people’ she says!”

Later, they poked a little fun at Gaga by photo shopping a sombrero on her head and “Mariachi” on her chest.

Despite her misunderstanding of the event’s purpose, people are still happy to see Gaga being an activist.

"This is just about the coolest things I ever saw. It feels good to know how many of my friends and loved ones are out celebrating and feeling valued," she captioned another picture.

Gaga is known for her activism.  In early June, Lady Gaga wrote an op/ed supporting New York's sexual assault policy.  And she is widely-known for her support of the LGBT community.

Love may have won when the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage is legal in all 50 states.

But the New York City Police Department officer in the above video has won the Internet.

The cop got into the spirit of the occasion when approached on Sunday by Aaron Santis, a member of LGBT sports group Big Apple Softball League.

“I didn’t expect him to get into it as much as he did,” Santis told Buzzfeed, adding:

“The crowd just loved it and I think it made him want to dance more. It was such a fun moment. He was such a good sport and I’m so glad he decided to dance.”

Elsewhere during NYC Pride Day over the weekend:

After months of speculation and rumors of tension with castmates and producers, NeNe Leakes announced today that she's leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta after seven seasons on the show.

“This was definitely a hard decision for me,” Leakes tells People magazine. “Me and my husband [Gregg] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time.

“This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”

Asked if her many arguments and rivalries influenced her decision, Leakes replied, “There were times when I was a target. I won’t miss the negativity.”

Fans of the outspoken Bravo-lebrity, who's been called the network's biggest star, won't have to worry about missing out on their NeNe fix.

Leakes will co-star in a spinoff series with Kim Zolciak that's set to premiere sometime in late 2015.

NeNe has also mentioned that she's going into business with Kim Kardashian on an as-yet unspecified project.

In her statement to People, Leakes left the door open for a possible return to RHOA at some point in the future.

I'm not saying I'm gone forever," NeNe says. "I'll probably pop up and play with those girls every now and then."

We eagerly await that day.

Cheryl Burke is the latest star to come out against Donald Trump.

The former Dancing with the Stars professional has resigned as host of the 2015 Miss USA Pageant, a day after NBC officially severed ties with the event's owner, Donald Trump.

An actual candidate for President in 2016, Trump has come under fire for saying some seriously racist stuff about Mexicans and other immigrants.

Said Burke in a statement announcing her decision:

"In light of the recent statements made by Donald Trump and the subsequent decision by NBC to cut ties with Mr. Trump, I cannot in good conscience move forward with participating in this year’s Miss USA Pageant as its co-host.

"Effective today I have withdrawn from my duties with Miss USA.

"Although I will not be there in person, I wish all of the contestants much luck as I know how hard they’ve all been working over the last year to try and realize their dreams."

Burke was scheduled to emcee the ceremony alongside Thomas Roberts of MSNBC.

Roselyn Sanchez and Cristián de la Fuente, meanwhile, have also dropped out as co-hosts of the Spanish simulcast of Miss USA.

The pageant was scheduled for July 12 and contestants are now rallying to have NBC air it after all.

Trump is one of the owners of the Miss Universe Organization, which oversees Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA.

In response to NBC deciding not to air his property, Trump has labeled the network weak and lame.

The Real Housewives franchise has a revolving door of ladies.  They come and go just like their husbands’ mistresses.

Ahem.

But when The Real Housewives of Atlanta’sNeNe Leakes announced she is quitting the show, sh!t got real.

NeNe is the main star of RHOA—and the pillar of the show’s drama.  Without her, there is no show.

Bravo is scrambling to get NeNe back.  And their efforts might be working!! Reports are coming in that NeNe might not be leaving RHOA after all.

Producers have asked Queen Bee NeNe to come back to the show in a reduced role.  And according to TMZ, she might agree!!

Sources say that NeNe is acting like she is off the show for good.  But Bravo producers are still working to have her make cameo appearances throughout the upcoming season.

Initially, NeNe and Bravo couldn’t come to terms over her salary.  So NeNe pulled the plug.

RHOA made NeNe famous, but she has other gigs going on.  Currently, she is committed to a primetime network sitcom.

NeNe is rich b*tch, and she wants to stay that way.  She said the only way she would juggle her new sitcom and RHOA is if Bravo upped the ante.

Reports claimed that NeNe got a HUGE raise in an effort to keep her on the show.  Apparently, it wasn't enough to please the reality star. But she is willing to be a part-time housewife if the money is right.

TMZ claims negotiations will begin soon.
