Amanda Bynes has been shut down in her legal bid to torpedo her parents' conservatorship, which remains in place after her challenge was dismissed.

The problem is that the conservatorship as it stands is doing nothing.

After Amanda Bynes was released from psychiatric care in a shocking development Thursday, she said she was headed to court to nix the conservatorship.

The 28-year-old distrusts and hates her parents with a vengeance.

In an epic Twitter rant, the star accused her father - who she again claims is a sexual predator - and Sam Lutfi of conspiring to lock her up against her will.

She vowed to appear in Ventura County Court Friday to take down the conservatorship, which recently gave Bynes' parents control over her affairs.

Bynes didn't show. A lawyer claiming to represent her did, but a judge ruled that she could not hire him ... because of the conservatorship. The irony.

Under the conservatorship, she lacks the capacity to sign a binding contract, which includes hiring a lawyer to represent her. So no dice yesterday.

All of this begs the obvious question: How was she released!?!

Her involuntary psychiatric hold was recently extended by 30 days, but she somehow convinced a hearing officer at the facility that she was fine.

Believing Bynes was lucid and that the facility lacked legal standing to hold her - even though a judge had just granted it - the officer nixed the 30-day hold.

Amanda walked out the front door Thursday, and, well ...

Roaming the streets of Hollywood, talking to imaginary friends and clearly delusional, Bynes showed instantly why she needs to be in just such a facility.

It's sad, but true and baffling that she got out.

Her parents' conservatorship is empty if they can't control or influence her conduct; Amanda seems to have access to money, though it's unclear how.

Not unlike when she was committed to the psychiatric facility a few weeks ago, it again looks to be just a matter of time before she hurts herself or others.

It's just a question of when or how badly.

Continuing a banner year for her famous family, 19 Kids and Counting cast member Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald tied the knot Saturday in Arkansas.

The couple, who recited their own wedding vows in front of an estimated 1,000 guests, were saving their very first kiss until after they'd said "I do."

Anyone else hoping to witness it was left hanging, however.

"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt, who married the couple, said later. "It was important to the both of them."

He spoke to the crowd about the couple's big decision and asked Jessa's parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to show the wedding crowd a kiss.

"So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss," Schadt said.

After spending some time alone with each other, the new bride and groom posed for pictures and later exchanged several sweet kisses at the reception.

The first, however, remains their memory alone.

The reception was also missing another traditional feature. The duo chose to have ice cream sundaes instead of cake, of which Jessa isn't a huge fan.

Jessa also chose a blush gown, not the usual white, from Tesori Bridal in Fayetteville, Ark., because she just felt it was the perfect choice for her.

Wayne Static of the rock band Static-X has died, according to reports.

A statement on his Facebook page confirmed his passing at age 48.

No details on the cause of Static's death have been made available.

Static, whose real name was Wayne Richard Wells, was best known as the frontman and lead guitarist of the band Static-X throughout a long musical career.

That band released six albums between 1999-2009.

The band's 1999 effort, Wisconsin Death Trip, was certified platinum for over 1 million units shipped, the Recording Industry Association of America shows.

He also released a solo album, Pighammer, in 2013.

Wayne Static was scheduled to release another later this year, according to his website, and was going on tour, with a date set in Atlanta on November.

Chris Brown is done apologizing for his beatdown of Rihanna.

In a wide-ranging new interview on Hot 97's "Ebro In The Morning" Friday, the anger-filled artist was asked about the beating of his ex-girlfriend in 2009 and replied that he's sick of addressing it.

Brittany Maynard chose to end her own life today.

The 29-year old has made headlines over the past few months for taking advantage of Oregon's Death with Dignity Act, which allows one to take a fatal dose of barbiturates (prescribed by a doctor) in the case of a life-threatening disease.

Maynard was told by physicians last spring that she had Stage 4 glioblastoma and would likely pass away within six months.

Wrote Maynard in a Facebook post today before making her fatal decision:

"Goodbye to all my dear friends and family that I love. Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness, this terrible brain cancer that has taken so much from me … but would have taken so much more.

"The world is a beautiful place, travel has been my greatest teacher, my close friends and folks are the greatest givers. I even have a ring of support around my bed as I type … Goodbye world. Spread good energy. Pay it forward!"

On October 6, Maynard launched an online video campaign with Compassion & Choices, an end-of-life choice advocacy organization, to fight for expanding death with dignity laws around the country.

Maynard spent the final months traveling to Alaska, British Colombia and Yellowstone National Park with her loved ones.

"For me what matters most is the way I'm remembered by my family and my husband as a good woman who did my best to be a good wife and a good daughter," Maynard told People last month, adding:

"Beyond that, getting involved with this campaign, I hope to be making a difference here. If I'm leaving a legacy, it's to change this health-care policy or be a part of this change of this health care policy so it becomes available to all Americans. That would be an enormous contribution to make, even if I'm just a piece of it."

Between Khloe Kardashian's whirlwind romance with French Montana and Scott Disick going utterly off the rails, we began with a pair of major subplots.

So what did we learn on Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons Season 1 Episode 1, and what's to come next? Where to even begin with these people ...

It's apparent from the onset that only Kourtney Kardashian actually wants to take the Hamptons. Khloe just wants to take off with French Montana.

Scott? He just wants to take naps and/or shots. Dude is just not feeling it and Kourtney gets very upset at the way he parties all night and sleeps all day.

She wants to bond as a family of four and nest while she’s pregnant with their third child. Scott would rather let loose with his friends and Khloe.

All it all, it makes you wonder how they're even together.

If you watch Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons online, you'd be very surprised that these two are a couple. She clearly can't stand him whatsoever.

Rather than reaching out or trying to get to the root of his obvious issues, though, Kourt just keeps on criticizing her man and as a result, pushing him away.

Don't get us wrong, the guy has some problems he should probably seek help for and is no prize himself when it comes to compromise and communication.

The one-sided conversations where both of them talk at each other and no one listens are cringe-worthy, though, and it gets worse as the episode progresses.

Kim points out that Kourt has been threatening to leave Scott for seven years because of this same behavior pattern, and that desperate times call for ...

Her kicking Scott out of the house apparently.

A security guard refuses to open the gate for his car when he returns, and when he proceeds to walk up to the house, Kourtney has locked him out.

He says he is not going to stop doing club appearances, but Kourtney says if he wants to die then great, but he's not welcome unless he's sober.

Scott says he has “nothing to say” and leaves.

The actress, who was released from a psychiatric facility on Thursday after a three-week involuntary hold, is back to one of her infamous old tricks:

Zac Efron appears to be on the fence somewhat.

“By the way I just want to tweet that Zac Efron is not ugly,” Bynes posted on her feed Friday night, perhaps as an apology to labeling him as such before.

In 2013, a distressed Bynes tweeted, “@zacefron has an ugly face” and then deleted it. She also tweeted that she wanted Drake to murder her vagina.

Amanda was hospitalized for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and placed under a legal conservatorship, with her parents in charge for a year.

That lapsed this fall, and she quickly went off the rails.

Bynes was arrested for DUI and spiraled out of control before being placed under a 5150 hold in L.A. in October. She was surprisingly let out last week.

Very much in a fragile state of mind once again these days, she proclaimed Friday, “I’m going to USC,” as part of an epic Amanda Bynes Twitter tirade.

She previously attended fashion school at FIDM and has tweeted about transferring to NYU, though she also claimed to be engaged to a guy named Caleb.

That's not true, and it's unclear if anything she says is.

These days, or really any day since we began covering their lives and times, it's tough to tell what's going on with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Last week, one rumor had it that Justin was trying to win Selena back... with the help of his mother, Patti Mallette, and one of his friends.

Sean Kory, a 29-year-old man from Santa Cruz, Calif., is making a run at the Hottie Thug / Felon Crush Friday crown, even though it's only Monday.

That's just how hot he is, people. You're welcome, ladies. You are welcome.

The blue-eyed hunk, who strikingly resembles original Hot Mug Shot Guy standard-bearer Jeremy Meeks, was reportedly arrested over the weekend. Why?

He was yelling "I hate Fox News" and attacking a person dressed as a Fox News reporter at a Halloween parade. Seriously. Sounds totally stable.

According to reports, Kory grabbed the victim's mic and "proceeded to rub the microphone on his crotch and pummeled the victim with an aluminum tennis racket."

We don't even know where we'd start, so just insert your own joke here.

The victim, who was not seriously injured in the disturbing Halloween incident, contacted police, who arrested Kory and took the mug shot in question.

Meeks, of Stockton, Calif., was first crowned "Hot Mugshot Guy" after his booking photo hit the web following a June arrest on gang-related weapons charges.

He is allegedly a very bad dude.

Nevertheless, the handsome thug, who was indicted on federal charges, was reportedly offered a modeling contract, though it's unclear if Modelz was serious.

This kid got arrested while wearing a shirt featuring a picture of himself....getting arrested.

Ever since Amber Rose filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa back in September there have been constant rumors about Amber's love life.

For a while it seemed that Amber was dating Nick Simmons, the son of rock legend Gene Simmons. Both parties denied the rumors and claimed that they're just friends.

Now, TMZ is reporting that all the times Amber was spotted out and about with Nick, she was actually pulling off low-key rendezvous with Zack Kharbouch, the brother of French Montana.

Sources say Amber and Zack are keeping things on the down low, so as to not to complicate her ongoing custody battle with Wiz.

Of course, it's not just Amber's ex who might have an issue with this new romance.

The relationship could make for some seriously awkward holiday gatherings, as Amber used to date Kanye West, who's sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian is rumored to be back together with French.

Just earlier today, French stated that Kanye would "make a great brother-in-law," proving once and for all that Hollywood is incestuous and French Montana is not terribly bright. 

(Marrying Khloe wouldn't make Kanye his brother-in-law, but we digress.) 

Anyway, Amber and Zack are reportedly moving fast, which may help explain why Rose was so quick to forgive Khalifa for cheating on her.

Kylie Jenner has been trying out lots of different looks on Instagram lately.

Tom Magliozzi - one of public radio's most beloved figures - passed away today at 77. 

From 1977 to 2012, Magliozzi and his brother Ray hosted the peabody Award-winning Car Talk on NPR.

Much more than a simple auto repair call-in show, Car Talk was enlivened by Ray and Tom's razor-sharp banter and incredible wit.

Tom worked as an engineer after graduating from MIT in 1958 before a near-fatal car accident during his lengthy commute prompted him to choose a new career.

He described the incident during a 1999 commencement speech at his alma mater:

"I quit my job," Magliozzi said. "I became a bum. I spent two years sitting in Harvard Square drinking coffee. I invented the concept of the do-it-yourself auto repair shop, and I met my lovely wife."

That period led to the creation of Car Talk, which started off on local Boston radio, and soon became a favorite amongst gear-heads and casual NPR listeners alike.

Tom and Ray retired from the show in 2012 after Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

Magliozzi is the second beloved son that the city of Boston has lost in les than a week, following the death of Thomas Menino last week this past Thursday.
