Yes, yes, we're all squealing with anticipation over who will play Four in the upcoming adaptation of the YA novel Divergent.

Will it be Magic Mike's Alex Pettyfer? Will it be X-Men: First Class' Lucas Till? Or maybe Lost's Jorge Garcia? (Can you find the made up casting rumor?)

Well, you'll just have to calm down and wait for that one. In the meantime, we do have a bit of casting news: Jai Courtney has been tabbed to play Eric.

The film follows a girl named Tris in a futuristic society, as she is initiated into one of the five factions that each citizen must join.

Courtney's character is the corrupt leader of that faction, called "Dauntless."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Shailene Woodley stars in the lead role.

Divergent is set to begin filming some time this year.

L.A. County sheriff's investigators believe missing Fox exec Gavin Smith was killed after finding his car in a storage facility connected to a known drug dealer.

After finding the Mercedes in February in a facility linked to John Creech, who remains jailed for a drug conviction, investigators served "several search warrants."

Smith's disappearance is now being investigated as a homicide, a sheriff's statement said. Publicly it had been characterized as a missing persons case.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said the change was "based on the [car]’s condition and information developed from persons cooperating in the [case]."

No body has been recovered.

Smith, a former UCLA basketball player who worked in Fox's movie distribution department, left a friend's home in Ventura County's Oak Park the night of May 1.

He has not been seen since.

Wearing purple athletic pants belonging to one of his sons, Smith drove away in his car, leaving behind his cellphone charger, shaving kit and other items.

Authorities have served several warrants, including searches of Creech's home and Hummer. The connection between Creech and Smith is unclear.

John Creech's wife, Chandrika Creech, met Gavin Smith in therapy, according to a person familiar with the case who did not want to be named.

The pregnant Kate Middleton is reportedly feeling great these days, despite her early morning sickness, and could not be more excited to be a mom.

She has not, however, decided what she will name the royal heir(ess).

"Nobody knows what William and Kate are calling their baby or even if they have decided on a name or names, for that matter," a royal source says.

"They are keeping everything to themselves. The Duke and Duchess take their privacy very seriously. They are not speaking to anyone about private matters."

And while Middleton is obviously getting closer and closer to her July 3 due date (approximately) a source tells E! that "Kate is feeling great."

"She's continuing to feel much better as time goes on."

"Naturally, she's very excited about being a mum."

And making the necessary preparations apparently.

Earlier this week, Kate Middleton and Prince William got the go-ahead to make some privacy-increasing modifications to their potential country retreat.

Kate recently revealed - supposedly - that she's expecting a girl, which would be awesome in that she would thus inherit the throne under the new succession rules.

This has not been confirmed by the couple, of course.

If it really is a girl, what should she name it?

Or if it's a boy ...

Embattled Today host Matt Lauer may soon be fired by NBC if the tanking morning show's fortunes don't turn around fast, according to a new report.

Lauer’s popularity has plummeted in the past year, according to the New York Times, and execs met with the staff to discuss the show's struggles.

Staff members were alleged told that, “what matters most is the anchor connection to the audience; what we need to work on is that connection.”

“What they meant was Matt. But no one would say it,” one senior staff member told the Times about the meeting held to to discuss Today focus group data.

Lauer was not at that meeting.

Employees who spoke to the Times said that Lauer may be flat-out fired soon, but at best, his contract will not be renewed when it expires in 2014.

It’s a stunning blow and dramatic downturn for a sexy beast who has helmed a morning show powerhouse for many years and makes $25 million per.

That all feels like ancient history now, though.

The firing of Ann Curry, and how poorly Lauer and NBC handled it, is largely seen as the catalyst for this fiasco. The question is whether it can be reversed.

A source at the show says on the condition of anonymity:

“The staff doesn’t like to see Matt lose his job, but it’s time for a change. It’s just too bad that the network fumbled the entire situation with Ann and Matt."

"Network bosses just gave Matt too much power.”

How bad has it gotten? Lauer’s Q Rating, a standard used to measure popularity, crashed from 19 to 9 from last September to January 2013.

That sent NBC scrambling to rehab their anchor’s image, with Lauer speaking out recently and saying his bosses were to blame for the Curry debacle.

That didn't sit well with Ann, who apparently wishes Matt would just shut up. Bottom line, it's a mess over there, which begs the obvious question:

Keith Olbermann’s legal war with Current TV has reportedly ended.

The perennially perturbed personality filed a $50 million lawsuit upon his termination from Current one year ago. He will indeed receive a "significant payout."

The exact amount will not be known until it's leaked in a few hours.

In his legal complaint, Olbermann accused Current co-founders Joel Hyatt and Al Gore of being “dilettantes portraying entertainment executives.”

He claimed they breached his contract in all sorts of ways, forced him to work in substandard conditions and even sought to smear him in the press.

The alleged dilettantes in question can afford to pay whatever it takes to make the case go away, having sold Current to Al Jazeera for $500 million.

The network is being overhauled and will become Al Jazeera America.

Seriously.

Olbermann’s also working on a reinvention, again. The former ESPN and MSNBC mainstay is reportedly looking for work, but no one's bitten since October.

Wonder why.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is standing up for Gwyneth Paltrow.

By coming down hard on gluten.

The View co-hosts got into a debate this morning over Paltrow's upcoming book, "It's All Good," in which the actress offers up a slew of carb-free and gluten-free recipes.

"I do believe that there is a growing number of people with gluten intolerance, not just celiac disease, like myself," said Hasslebeck. "I do think it causes inflammation in the body, whether you are celiac or gluten intolerant or not."

The former Survivor contestant herself, in fact, has penned a pair of gluten-free cook books.

Hasselbeck - who is NOT leaving The View - added that she noticed a significant improvement in her overall health since she cut this item out of her diet.

"I've been on the diet for 10 years," she said. "I've never felt better."

But even more than any disdain for gluten, Hasselbeck wanted to make a clear point regarding Paltrow and her beliefs:

"She could do whatever the heck she wants. She's a mom, those are her kids, do what you want."

Lena Dunham is featured in this month's Playboy - and here's some irony for you:

The actress, so often naked on HBO's Girls, is actually clothed within the pages of the world's most famous men's magazine.

Asked about her full-shaped figure, Dunham says she's actually grateful for her appearance.

Why does she prefer it over that of Miranda Kerr or Alessandra Ambrosio?

"I don't want to go through life wondering if people are talking to me because I have a big rack," says the actress/writer. "Not being the babest person in the world creates a nice barrier. The people who talk to you are the people who are interested in you."

Brandi Glanville was caught buck naked at Kyle Richards' famous White Party ... at least according to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills rumor mill.

In a sneak peek of next week's episode, her outrageous, possibly nude behavior is the talk of the night, although she's not there to defend herself.

Marisa Zanuck and Faye Resnick started off saying that Brandi Glanville has a crush on Marisa’s husband Dean, and Kyle defends her, saying:

“I don’t think after what she went through with Eddie (Cibrian) cheating on her and leaving her that she'd go there with a married man," Richards stated.

This, in turn, shocks Faye Resnick.

“Kyle did you really say that?” Faye asks, noting the supposed bathroom sex. “Sweetheart, what happened in the bathroom in your house at the white party?”

Resnick then tells the other women that Brandi “was found in the bathroom with not a lot of clothes on. Actually in the bathroom of a child’s room."

Kyle Richards admits that she didn’t see “anything with my own eyes,” and Yolanda Foster takes Brandi’s side, saying that “I hate speculation.”

However, Faye is insistent that it happened as she describes, saying “I know about it from two sets of eyes and there were no drapes in there!”

Justin Bieber is taking at least some of it back.

Not long after posting an Instagram rant in which he laid into the press for all its negativity, scoffed at suggestions that he should enter rehab and bragged about his success, the singer has apologized for including Lindsay Lohan in his diatribe.

Bieber concluded his post by telling all the mean girls "comparing me to Lindsay Lohan [to] look at her 2012 tax statements."

But he then went online and removed that section, releasing a statement that admits it was wrong to go after Lohan's finances.

"My post was only up for a few minutes but I realized right away that what I said at the end was wrong and distracted from what I was trying to say," Bieber said, adding that he "immediately deleted it and rewrote it so it would show that I was really feeling."

And this is what Justin wrote instead:

"All this isn't easy. I get angry sometimes. I'm human. I'm gonna make mistakes. In gonna grow and get better from them. But all the love from you guys overcomes the negativity. I love u. Thanks."

A letter from a dad to his gay son - who he overheard saying he planned to come out to his parents - has gone viral this week due to its simple, hopeful message.

Writes Nate's dad:

“I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me. The only thing I need you to plan is to bring home OJ and bread after class."

"We are out, like you now. I’ve known you were gay since you were six, I’ve loved you since you were born. Dad. PS Your mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple.”

The letter was posted by FCKH8 (dot) com, a group dedicated to empowering youth through gay-positive, often snarky apparel, photos and videos.

“We get a lot of crazy stuff, so I almost didn’t look at it,” FCKH8 founder Luke Montgomery told Yahoo! Shine, but when he did read it, he said, “I cried.”

He said Nate, a high school student in Michigan, sent the letter.

Nate and his family did not want to share any information besides the letter itself, but the four sentences alone have been enough to inspire plenty.

“It’s actually sad so many people are excited,” Mongtomery said.

“And what I think that says is, one, it’s rare, and that’s really bad," however, on the positive side, "a lot of people are really craving this kind of reaction.”

“It’s what I want,” he explained. “It’s what everyone wants.”

The national organization Parents and Families of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG) also saw the letter and loved it, calling it "what PFLAG is all about."

Just don't forget the OJ and bread please, Nate. Responsibility!

New York State Assemblyman Steve Katz (R) has been charged with drug possession after a Thursday morning traffic stop on the NYS Thruway.

"After noting the odor of marijuana, a New York State Trooper found Katz in possession of a small bag of marijuana," a State Police's press release states.

Steve Katz, 59, is due back in court March 28.

Katz said he "will not let this incident impede my public service and my calls for mandate relief, a better economic climate and better services for those in need in New York."

"This should not overshadow the work I have done over the years for the public ... I am confident that once the facts are presented that this will quickly be put to rest."

It's unclear what those facts are, but the case is notable in part because Katz currently sits on the Assembly's Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Committee.

The Lower Hudson Valley lawmaker also ran unsuccessfully last year for state Senate against his former ally, Sen. Greg Ball, in a bare-knuckle campaign.

Among the revelations? Katz, a veterinarian, was once been arrested for putting a dead dog in a dumpster, and for allegedly harming a feisty chihuahua during an exam.

No charges were brought in either incident.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was once a Maxim staple, and remains a reader favorite.

To commemorate Maxim’s 16th anniversary, the magazine’s readers were polled on which cover girl was the hottest in the publication's storied history.

The Client List star and her $5 million boobs won out.

“Oh my God, I’m so excited, I think it’s really awesome, I’m such a big fan,” she said.

Today's edition of the Today mill focuses on Ann Curry and her alleged reaction to reports that Matt Lauer may be fired from the struggling show.

If you assumed Curry would be laughing all the way to the bank with her severance check, think again. She's more upset with NBC than anything.

While plenty pissed at her former co-host - who she wishes would just shut up - Curry places the blame on NBC for empowering Lauer in the first place.

According to reports, the powers that be have allowed him to become a diva, when they should've limited his power and kept him focused on journalism.

“Ann should be crowing from the rooftops about Matt’s contract not being renewed, but that’s just not who she is,” a source close to Curry says.

“Remember, Ann herself was blamed last year for the show losing ratings to Good Morning America ... they fired her and the situation didn’t improve!!

"There’s a real culture of passing the buck and looking for a scapegoat at Today and it seems that it’s Matt’s turn now to be thrown under the bus."

“She doesn’t blame him for her firing, but Ann feels Matt was afforded way too much power and input when it came to programming decisions."

"At the end of the day he’s just a journalist."

"The line between journalist and executive producer was clouded and Ann thinks the network bosses have no one to blame for the slide but themselves.”

Ratings were slipping before Ann Curry's firing, but the bad PR from that only made things worse, damaging Lauer's reputation and increasing GMA's lead.

World Series of Poker champ Greg Raymer, a.k.a. Fossilman, was arrested in Wake Forest, N.C., after allegedly trying to solicit a prostitute - online.

Fossilman got popped at a hotel on Wednesday.

Raymer, 48, was reportedly one of six men who responded to an advertisement posted by an undercover officer on a website frequented by prostitutes.

He has since been released on $1,000 bond.

As famous for his lizard-eye hologram sunglasses - worn indoors - as for his 2004 WSP title, Raymer has made millions playing poker and is married.

Officials say the prostitute(s) involved were female, contrary to initial reports that claimed Raymer and the other men had solicited male escorts.

Kristen Stewart tells the Chicago Sun-Times that she was inspired to play "wild, sexy girl" Marylou in On The Road, despite pushing her own boundaries.

The actress says her sex scenes were "necessary," that Marylou was surprisingly self-aware, and that in the end, "human beings are just animals.”

“It’s about fiercely living and squeezing every single drop out of life and not denying any aspects of it,” she said, calling the sex scenes "non-gratuitous."

Stewart, 22, played against type in the 2012 adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic American novel, shedding any semblance of her inner Bella Swan.

If you saw it ... there was nothing PG-13 about Stewart's role.

“So much is clearly illustrated through her sexuality in her film,” Kristen Stewart said of her Marylou. “But there was nothing about it that seemed gratuitous."

"It all just seemed so necessary. There was simply no question that this would be a more sexual role. I didn’t want to just play the wild, sexy, girl."

Indeed, Marylou was more complex than meets the eye.

"Yes, she’s daring, but she's completely self-aware. She’s someone who can harness her fears in life although she’s not above emotions like jealousy.”

Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers is essentially a movie without a purpose.

It’s a sensationalized film about sensationalism, and while it gets away with very little in the way of plot or character growth for much of the film, the ending seems to cast away any sense of obligation to make a grander point one way or the other about youth culture and depravity.

Spring Breakers is shot like a music video. It’s cut like a music video. Its characters think they’re in a music video.

Taking their cues from MTV, James Franco, Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine, Ashley Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens’ characters spend no mental energy at all on anything but image.

In one scene Franco, who wonderfully transforms into his subtly terrifying character “Alien,” actually gives the girls an MTV Cribs-style tour of all of his “sh*t,” bragging about his money, his guns, his Scarface DVD that plays on repeat, and even his collection of “shorts in every color” (pretty sweet right?).

The film tells the story of four college girls - Selena Gomez’s character being the least open to debauchery, based on a somewhat superficial adherence to Christianity - who want desperately to go on Spring Break and “see the world.”

They do whatever it takes to get there, including stealing a car and robbing a restaurant’s patrons, all in the hopes of reaching some fetishized party-girl ideal. They long for the “image” of Spring Break.

When it doesn’t pan out, they shove their messy experiences into that image, and wax delusional about how magical the world seems when you don’t have to deal with any of its problems.

And when those problems do arise, the girls begin to drop out, heading home by bus, dejected and depressed, and out of the film forever.

While Korine seems to have interesting ideas about what greed and childish egoism can lead a person to do, Spring Breakers is more of a collection of party-culture imagery than an exploration of that culture. The opening montage of beer being showered over bare breasts lets the audience know right away what they’re getting into (and for those who are interested: the bare breasts do keep coming).

What Korine does best in Spring Breakers is make the audience anxious. From the off-putting “gun-cocking” sounds that accompany many of the cuts between scenes, to the frenetic camerawork, oddly-colored scenes, and reliance on repetition (Korine uses several takes of the same dialogue, looped one after the other, often set in different locations), Korine set out to make viewing Spring Breakers an uncomfortable experience.

And when we as the audience finally have somebody speaking for us, when Gomez’s character gets as uncomfortable as we do with Alien and his cohorts, she disappears from the film almost instantly, leaving us feeling trapped in the discomfort.

Lil Wayne is reportedly in critical condition after suffering more seizures. The rapper was rushed to the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

The rapper was hospitalized Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures, but was released Wednesday after he stabilized. Today, he did not stabilize.

Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, and placed in restraints in the ICU because he was shaking uncontrollably. He was then placed in an induced coma.

Earlier this afternoon, he was breathing through tubes.

Several people are at Wayne's bedside, both rap artists and family members. There's evidence that he went on a sizzurp binge after his release Wednesday.

Doctors found high amounts of codeine in the 30-year-old's system. Wanye's stomach was pumped three times to flush the drugs from his system.

This took place earlier this afternoon, Pacific Time.

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne's mother is currently on a plane flying to Los Angeles, and no major medical decisions will be made until she arrives.

UPDATE: As of a few minutes ago, Weezy is said to be stabilizing finally, so there is some reason for hope, but his prognosis is still uncertain.

UPDATE #2: Wayne is still in the ICU but has reportedly stabilized. "I'm good everybody. Thx for all the prayers and love," Wayne said on Twitter.

Wow. We're cautiously optimistic, but that was a quick turnaround.

Rapper Mack Maine said on Twitter that LW is "alive and well. We watching the Syracuse (basketball) game... thanks for the prayers and concern."
