Has there been a discovery of new evidence in the Caylee Anthony murder case?
A news station in Orlando, Fla., says it has evidence "missed by prosecutors" that could prove Casey Anthony’s guilt in the slaying of her two-year-old daughter.
WKMG-TV reporter Tony Pipitone says, “We've uncovered an astounding failure by investigators that left prosecutors unaware of more than 98 percent of a crucial batch of evidence.”
He won't say what that is or how it would've impacted the case.
The station’s news director, Steve Hyvonen, added that the alleged find "could have changed the jury's mind - it's evidence that points right at Casey.”
Again, not a lot to go on as to what that possibly could be.
Pipitone said the station let prosecutors know about evidence: “When we revealed it to them last week, they said they would have used some of it to try to prove Casey's guilt.”
The prosecutors would not comment but told Extra that “there is nothing new.” Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, said, “It’s old news that was written in my book.”
So basically, this may be in the same ballpark as Glen Rogers' O.J. claims.
Casey was acquitted of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony.
A Florida jury found her not guilty in July 2011.
