Did American Idol save its best for last Wednesday?
Maybe not quite, but with Phillip Phillips closing the show with a rock version of the Stevie Wonder classic "Superstition," it certainly went out on a high note.
The song has been done on the show before, he acknowledged, but never like this. On a night when the contestants honored Stevie and Whitney Houston, most went the ballad / traditional route or played to the songs' R&B roots. Not Phillip.
