Justin Bieber owes his fame and fortune to Usher, who discovered the Canadian singer based on a series of homemade YouTube videos.
Now, the teenage icon is returning the favor, hoping to become a mentor to a young woman named Carly Rae Jespen.
The Biebs helped sign Jepsen - last year's runner-up on Canadian Idol - to Schoolboy Records, the label run by Justin's manager, Scooter Braun, after hearing the track "Call Me Maybe" on the radio.
"She's gonna blow up," Bieber said last week on his native country's MuchMusic.
And he's doing all he can to help with said blowing up, teaming with Jespen and a couple other friends - Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale - on the video for "Call Me Maybe." Watch it here:
