Beavis and Butt-Head are returning to MTV with new episodes tonight. No, this isn't 1997, the network is really bringing back the animated, slacker dumbass duo.
Mike Judge's cartoon, developed as a farcical, moronic but not inaccurate satire of the network's main programming at the time - music videos, those were the days!! - has officially been revived, with the titular characters ridiculing MTV's present-day fare.
That means Teen Mom and Jersey Shore jokes galore.
"This show would rule if they showed them actually getting pregnant." Beavis on 16 & Pregnant. "This guy might be stupider than us." - Butt-Head on Sitch.
The material is new (and endless), but the idiots remain the same. Or have they? Will we see a more mature side of the terrible tandem after all this time?
Don't count on it, but by bringing back a slow, awkward, '90s style cartoon, MTV is certainly going against the grain. Whether it works remains to be seen.
Are you psyched for the return of Beavis and Butt-Head?
