Alice Walton's birthday ended with her in jail Friday night.
The 62-year-old daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, and one of the 10 richest peeps in the U.S., Alice was arrested by Texas Highway Patrol and charged with DUI after she was nabbed for speeding in a construction zone.
Those work zones get you every time. Why not slow down when you see the "fines doubled" sign? Well, guess that doesn't matter if you have $20 billion ...
Alice Walton, who refused a breathalyzer test, "was determined to be intoxicated during a field sobriety test," according to Senior Trooper Gary Rozzell.
She was booked into the Parker County Jail after 11 p.m. Friday, reports the local news, and released on $1,000 bond around 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Her attorney, Dee J. Kelly, said in a statement:
"She was returning home from a birthday dinner with friends at a Fort Worth restaurant. She accepts full responsibility for this unfortunate incident and deeply regrets it."
Two thousand miles away, Occupy Wall Street protesters are cheering. She also might want to use some of that fortune on a haircut. Just saying.
