Britney Spears' new single, "Hold It Against Me," has just made music history. She's only the second artist ever to debut more than one song at #1.
"Hold It Against Me" took the pole position in its first week of release. The pop star previously took over the top spot out of the gate with "3" in 2009.
The only other act with multiple #1 starts is, not too surprisingly, Mariah Carey with "Fantasy" and "One Sweet Day" in 1995 and "Honey" in 1997.
Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (Full Version)
"Hold It Against Me" is Brit's fourth song to hit #1 on the Hot 100 overall, after "3," her classic "Baby One More Time" (1999) and "Womanizer" (2008).
The track has already netted 411,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which marks the highest first-week tally for a female artist.
That mark was previously held by the 325,000 downloads piled up by Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale" in February of last year. Goooo Britney!
Aside from Kanye and the Bellamy Brothers, we're all happy to see the former teen idol turned train wreck turned superstar again back on top.
