Sources have confirmed that ABC has reached a new marketing low.
Earlier today, the network premiered its sef-proclaimed Brokeback Bachelorette promo in which contestants Clint and JJ claimed to be "in love."
The former even made a reference to how the pair have "grown close in the shower," making viewers wonder whether the series was actually about to feature a same-sex relationship between two suitors.
But now insiders have told TMZ that there's nothing remotely real about this teaser... except for ABC's lame attempt to garner ratings.
Clint and JJ did become friends while attempting to woo Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette - but both men are straight.
They gave their approval to the PR department for the whole “Brokeback” campaign and find the entire thing very "funny."
Heck, the two men even offered up sound bites to producers to use for the video and they’ve been embracing the attention they're receiving on social media.
“If you have to be a #BROKEBACKBACHELOR,” Be Heath Ledger. Always be #HeathLedger,” Clint Tweeted in response to the trailer.
