ABC's The Bachelorette season premiere synopsis confirms what The Bachelorette spoilers have said from the start about the May 18 opener:
For one of the two stars, it's going to be a very short run.
Fans of the series were shocked to learn that The Bachelor castoffs Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe would both appear on the new season.
The twist was revealed LIVE on the After the Final Rose special, with Britt delighted and Kaitlyn - expected to be the solo pick - taken aback.
“Well, it’s not ideal,” Bristowe admitted, addressing Nilsson.
“Nothing against you. Just not really what I pictured.”
She wasn't alone. Some observers were outraged, which is a little silly considering it's The Bachelorette we're talking about, but it is what it is.
At least at the onset. The season looks like it will be shaping up much like your standard Bachelorette campaign once the initial dust settles.
Who will keep the job? That comes down to the 25 men cast by ABC to seek short-lived fame and woo Britt Nilsson and/or Kaitlyn Bristowe.
The premiere will bring a prompt end to this journey for one of the two, as the winner of the guys' vote is revealed and one stays, one goes.
SPOILER ALERT: We're going to tell you who it is soon.
While Britt will be “the tower of confidence” during limo arrivals on night one of the new season, the official synopsis says Kaitlyn will be nervous.
Not only is Nilsson as outgoing as it gets to begin with, she's the one coming into this with nothing to lose. Kaitlyn, on the other hand, seems rattled.
Will fair Kaitlyn hit her stride in time to oust her sexy rival?
“Once the votes are counted, one of the lovely ladies will be going home,” confirms the synopsis, even as both make connections with the contestants.
While Britt “displays heartfelt sincerity to score points with the men,” Kait channels her inner comedian to “break the ice” with her sense of humor.
The men also have a lot at stake, obviously, and act like, it, resorting to lap dances, cupcake cars, hot tub cars, helium-filled balloons and more.
Oh, and lots of alcohol. Even more alcohol than usual.
One man will become so “disrespectful” that “other bachelors take him on” and Chris Harrison will be forced to intervene, which should be hilarious.
In the end ... one final Bachelorette spoilers alert ...
Kaitlyn prevails! But Britt may have found a nice consolation prize. One of the guys asked off the show after the vote so he could date Britt instead.
Or so we've heard. Tune in a week from Monday to see whether The Bachelorette spoilers above are proven correct or if we've all been played.
