Griffith was taken into custody by Horry County police and eventually posted bail.
Wild drama often seems to be the only constant in Jenelle's life (Evans was arrested just last week, marking the 11th time she's been locked up.), but neighbors say this latest dust-up was all for show.
At least one neighbor of Jenelle and Nathan's is convinced that the whole thing was staged for Teen Mom 2 cameras, and that Griffith changed his mind about playing a part in the scripted drama once police arrived.
The neighbor - local meteorologist James Hopkins - took the above photo and posted it on Instagram with a caption reading, "So Teen Mom 2 star's fiance was arrested today...They're my neighbors but probably not for long. #Drama #Staged"
Yes, it's that last hashtag that's got people talking. Hopkins also offered his version of events to Radar Online, and it seems Griffith lost his commitment to the bit once it became clear cops intended to slap the cuffs on him.
"I heard him talking to what seemed to be a camera guy asking him to tell the cops that he didn't do it," said Hopkins. "He said, 'Come on, man, tell them I didn't touch her. You know I didn't do anything."
Naturally, the crew declined to intervene, and Griffith was hauled off to jail. Hopefully he's learned a valuable lesson about dating Jenelle - if she doesn't destroy you, MTV will.
