The Voice is off and running singing!

Season 8 of this beloved musical competition got underway on NBC last night, with Christina Aguilera taking a seat alongside Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams for the first time since giving birth to daughter Summer Rain in August.

But whose performances would rain down upon viewers with impressive notes and charisma?

That was the most pressing question from Monday evening's two-hour premiere.

There was ROB TAYLOR, whose mother suffered a stroke when he was in sixth grade and who turned three chairs with his rendition of “I Want You.”

There was MEGHAN LINSEY, who actually opened for Blake Shelton on tour in 2011 as one-half of the country duo Steel Magnolia.

There was SARAH POTENZA, a 34-year old who moved to Nashville with her husband to kick start a career in music and whose father has Parkinson’s Disease.

There was SAWYER FREDERICKS, a mere 15-year old who sang “I’m a Man of Constant Sorrow,” much to the thrill of all four mentors, and who is homeschooled on his family’s 88-acre farm.

And there was CODY WICKLINE, whose take on “He Stopped Loving Her Today” caused Levine to gush that it was “the best country music performance I have ever heard anyone perform on this show.”

Might we therefore already have an early Season 8 favorite?
