The 2012 smash hit Pitch Perfect proved that a capella singing competitions are a big draw to today's audience.
Now Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick are returning in their lead roles, and the sequel looks like it could be even better! Check out the first trailer below:
The first Pitch Perfect grossed over $113 million dollars worldwide, on a budget of just over $17 million. That's what people in the movie industry call "bananas."
It's been three years, but now Rebel and Anna are back, along with a slew of supporting stars who are coming along for the ride: Elizabeth Banks (The Lego Movie), Adam DeVine (Workaholics), and Katy Segal (Sons of Anarchy) just to name a few.
We last heard from Anna Kendrick when she live tweeted the Super Bowl. And we last saw her co-star Rebel Wilson in this drunken photo with friend and fellow superstar Jennifer Lawrence.
Now things are looking up for both of these talented young starlets, as each of them is receiving top-billing in the sequel.
Of course, Anna Kendrick has always been credited first in the franchise, but Wilson has made some pretty significant gains in her career since 2012, and is now just as big a box office draw as her much slimmer counterpart.
See both of these uber-talented ladies when Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters on May 15, 2015.
